Default 2001 GS Ultra Slide Questions

My lovely water damaged RV is having issues with the slides. I can't get them to work on 12V at all.

The real question is how do I find a way to manually open and close them? I'll worry about the electrical problems later. Right now, I'm knee-deep in trying to find all of the water damage in the ceiling, walls, and floor.

Thanks for your help!

You probably have an in-floor slide mechanism. Meaning there are two toothed bars underneath, connected by a torque tube (shaft) that moves your slide in and out by way of a 12VDC motorized linear actuator. Opposite side of your RV from the motor location (side opposite of your slide), there is a hole in your frame. Look in this hole, you will see a shaft you can connect a hand crank (or socket with a long extension). This will manually move your slide (as long as you don't have severe mechanical issues).

You need to start your engine, due to your alternator providing 13 volts or more to the slide motors. Always run your engine when you are running your slides or jacks. If that doesn't work, use the manual procedure above.
