Default Replacement Batteries Info requested

I have a 2007 GS Sunvoyager that the starting batteries are not holding a charge after a week of being isolated from the Chassis. I want to replace these with DIEHARD batteries. Without taking them out and going to purchase does any one off hand know which size I would need, Also thinking about replacing the coach batteries since I will be there... any recommendations on these for the Coach I was looking at the Deep cycle 29m series..... your thoughts???

Default Batteries

I would look at the owner's manual for the chasis to see what Ford or whoever recommends. Then I would cross reference that number to th Diehard brand.

As far as the coach batteris are concerned, I have seen a lot of discussion about series 6V and parallel 12V. Since I do not boondock, and the Sun Voyager spends most of its time hooked up to the converter, I opted for the 12V. I was able to crawl under the RV to see the numbers for the coach batteries. My batteris are located under the "hood" forward of the engine.

I replaced all three batteries with batteries from Auto Zone. They should check around and see if there are batteries less expensive that what they sell. Then, they will match prices.

I marked all the leads before disconnecting the old batteris, and I changed all three batteries in about 45 minutes.

Qualified on SSBN-633 in 1966, We bubble heads do not seem to be able to get very far away from batteries.

I replaced my 12V coach battery with two 6V golf cart batteries I bought at Sam's Club. From what I have heard, there are fewer problems with two 6V batteries in series than with two 12V batteries in parallel.

I used to be a big Diehard battery fan for my cars until I had a couple go bad on me in a row. Nowadays I've been getting my 12V batteries at Discount Auto.

Default Batteries/ quals

Larry,

Thanks for the reply, I qualified 1979 on th SSBN 610. Retired after 30, last boat rode was the 699. really don't miss the BS but miss the people and the boats.... I have rode all classes that we have ( SS, SSN, SSBN,NSSN,) but the best were the old 41 For Freedom.... those were great hulls and great times..... although the Cold war era was interesting to say the least....... Maybe one day our paths will cross and we can sit down and tell a bunch of lies......uhhh i mean Sea Stories about the UstaFish.............

hi there fellow submariners...SSN-615 and a diver to boot. Nothing like a security swim in the muddy Thames with visibility at 4".

Default Bubble Head Section

Perhaps we can talk the Owner's Forum into providing a separate section for us!!! Most would probably agree that we need to be seperated from the public!

Hey folks, why not use the chit-chat "room"? I think that is the purpose of that category. I'd love to read about some of your experiences. I'm interested since my company produced the fire control system. I've never stepped foot in a real sub.

So TRUE.... Most people would not find the humor in our conversations.....

Welcome 72...... 615 Ummm the Black cat Uss Gato.......Know the Thames well.... Cold as hell also....... Was the happiest day in my life we I recieved Orders to Sunny Hawaii...... rode the 610, 696, 580 and the 642 out of Pearl....... rode the 720 out of Ct. and the 696 out of VA...... last tour was on the TRE team so I guess I rode all the boats on the east coast and almost all of them on the West....

SS Guys are a different breed....... although the quality of the individual has declined over the years..... due to lack of screening ..... Hope to hear from more of the SS guys out there......and soon to be SS ladies.........
