Default Oil changes/transmission maintenance

Does anyone know what the recommended miles/time for oil changes and transmission maintenance per the manual? Just trying to keep everything up to date for the extended warranty. 2006 tour master. Mercedes engine.

The manual should tell you what a Mercedes engine oil change should be.

I have the Caterpillar engine and on mine it is every 16K miles or once a year, which ever comes first. Mine has been once a year because I do not put 16K miles on my coach in a year.

But the rule of thumb is once a year on the motor.

Now on the transmission again it all depends on whether it has Dextron III like mine does or in your case it probably has synthetic fluid.

But if it has Dextron III since I bought the coach brand new in 2003, the instructions were to change the fluid at six thousand miles which is the breaking in period. Then not until 100K miles again.

Now in your case which you probably have the synthetic fluid it probably is much longer period then the Dextron III.

Again, you should have a manual from Allison.

There are many TourMaster owners with Mercedes engines in this forum. It surprises me that somebody has not pitched in some information to help you out.

I am away from my coach on a holiday visit, so can't get my manual specific information on the Mercedes engine. However, the Allison calculator above gives these results for light duty as typical of our coaches. Note that the oil is not going to need to be changed very often-but the minimum interval is 4 years, and the oil filter on the transmission needs to be renewed at least once every 3 years, with needing to lube the aux filter at the same time. I just recommend that you do it all every three years to simplify your maintenance schedule:

Annual Distance Traveled 2600 miles (4160 KM)
Average Speed 50 MPH (80 KMPH)
Transmission Fluid 300,000 MILES (480 000 KM), 48 MONTHS, OR 6,000 HOURS, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
MAIN FILTER 75,000 MILES (120 000 KM), 36 MONTHS, OR 3,000 HOURS, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
INTERNAL FILTER SCREEN OVERHAUL
LUBE/AUXILIARY FILTER 75,000 MILES (120 000 KM), 36 MONTHS, OR 3,000 HOURS, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
