Default TV antenna

Hello. Does the TV antenna on new trailers stay fixed or are they raiseable or not? I ran the channel search in my driveway and received no channels at all. I have read a lot of forums and see that sometimes these wires are not even connected properly by the factory. Is this common? Sorry for the weird questions, II am a newbie and just trying to figure things out. I have a 2021 199RK

The TV antenna on my 2021 19ERD is fixed. I get one or two channels parked next to the house, and pretty fuzzy at that. But we have a lot of trees and mountains in the way. I have yet to really try the antenna from a camp site.

We did learn how to download movies from Netflix to our iPad. We bought the cable that goes from the iPad to the TV HMDI port. Works really well.

BTW, if you are using your antenna, make sure you have pushed that little button next to where your coaxial cable goes into the wall.

I found that the antenna was NOT even hooked up to the wall plate so that is why there were no signals. Where I live, I should be pulling in some channels. I also cannot get 1 radio station in AM and 1 very weak FM channel. Something tells me that the builders forgot to attach the antenna to either of these areas. Pretty sad. I am now trying to find a dealer to do the warranty work and it is an issue. People, beware. Just because Gulf Stream or your salesman will tell you that you can take the unit to any licensed repair facility, they will tell you they cannot. It is just because they are lazy and do not want to go through the extra paperwork to get the job done. Trust me, I am dealing with this issue right now

Oh man, that is no good.

Local dealer(s) refusing warranty work is no good either. I'm curious if you have talked to Gulf Stream and what they are saying.

Right, not good at all. Now get this.....I bought my trailer at a dealership that has 6 spread out through the State. I figured that I would be able to use the one closer to my house. (I bought my trailer 2 3/4 hours away because they had my trailer in stock. I asked my salesman for the service guy at the dealership closer to me, and called him. The guy told me that they do not do Warranty work on Gulf Streams because they do not sell them. The one branch does, but not this one. He tried to explain to me that there is extra paperwork and they usually do NOT do the work on a trailer brand that they don't sell. I fired out a scathing email to my salesman explaining all of this crap, and that I was pissed because I paid for 'dealer prep' and my antenna issue SHOULD have been found. I told him that I am extremely pissed because his sister dealership basically told me no. I contacted another reputable dealership within my area explaining my situation and asking if they can do the warranty work and they sent me back a one word answer no. REALLY??? I fired out a reply just letting them know that a one word answer is terrible customer service and that they should be ashamed. They replied that the reply was not meant for me. Well, that still doesn't get my trailer fixed. back to the dealership I bought from. When I was done telling my salesman how pissed I was and that it is pretty rotten that need to drive 5 1/2 hours round trip to get something fixed THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND BEFORE I PICKED TRAILER UP. He emailed back and asked me what day during the week is best for me as they will send a driver down here to get trailer, take it to be repaired and drive it back. I feel a little serious bitching will get you places if you feel that you were wronged. This is a great finish to this situation, as long as they don't take forever to fix it. Other than that, people, beware about where you can take the trailer to get fixed. Gulf Stream has told me that ANY licensed facility CAN do warranty work. I ran into a couple that basically turned me down and that is not right. Gulf Stream has been notified and I will be contacting these 2 places that told me no and giving them a piece of my mind. I will feel better when do that.

Gulf Stream has told me that all they do is MAKE the trailers, they cannot control or have any say in how they do the warranty work. That, to me, is ridiculous. You would think that the manufacturer would keep a closer eye on RV dealers and repair shops as it is a reflection on the manufacturer in how easy or difficult it is to get service work done. Oh, had I known some of this stuff beforehand

Is the antenna working any better now that the dealer has looked at it? We have a 2021 Ameri-Lite 189DD and the antenna doesn't seem to help get over-the-air channels.

With all the bitching I did, the dealer sent a truck to pick up my trailer yesterday. After all, I told them numerous times that it should have been found in the dealer prep. I am hoping all the issues with the antenna are fixed. With your post, it seems that it is a common problem with antenna's. Try your radio and see if you get any stations on AM or FM. I did not. I am also having them look at the cable connection in the back of the trailer for cable hookup in campgrounds. I figure if one antenna has no cables from it connected, why would that cable be hooked up. Good luck

I got my trailer back and the antenna works great. The radio pulls in channels very strongly so it was the antenna cable not hooked up at all. The repair specialist also told me that the RCA wires were plugged in wrong so I should have no issues moving forward. I feel that this is a common area of problems with the builders making these things so quickly. Keep on your dealer to fix these issues, and also let them know that some of these issues should have been caught by the dealer prep that you mot likely paid for.

As a new owner, I asked Gulf Stream about taking my 19RBS to dealers for warranty work. They replied back that it doesn't have to be a GS dealer, and that I can take my camper to any RV facility of my choice.

I have been told that as well, and when I asked my dealer for help, they suggested one of their branches an hour and a half closer to me. I called them up and they told me that they do not work on Gulf Stream as they do not sell them. I called them out on it as I was referred to them by one of their own branches. I was livid and said some things to my salesman that convinced them to send their own truck to my house, 2 1/2 hours away to take my trailer to their shop. NEVER trust what a dealer tells you, or take for granted that any certified shop will do the work for you.
