Re: Kitchen Sink Plumbed into Black Tank....
I share Ken White's disbelief.
From my experience regarding this issue (most of which is from the two motorhomes we have owned and comments on this and other forums), is for rigs with one each: kitchen sink, bathroom sink, shower and toilet, the most common set up is...
- kitchen sink and shower go into grey tank.
- bathroom sink and toilet go into black tank.
The bathroom sink is plumbed into the black tank to insure enough liquid gets mixed in with the solid waste to allow it to flow freely when dumped.
Again, this is what a consensus of contributors considers "normal" ,or at least, what is in mine and most RVs. There have been several exceptions to this rule.
Some folks that found out their kitchen sink went into the black tank were understandably concerned about contaminants from that tank having ANY connection to where they were preparing food.
