Default Endura----Additional fuel storage

Has anyone added any additional fuel tanks on a Duramax Kodiak such as under the cab doors?

I don't know why u couldn't add another tank most tanks level by gravity from one side to the other and only use fuel out of one side u could also use a manual or electric switching valve. you might be able to find a used tank at salvage yard for trucks. what chassis do u have.

I have the Chevy Kodiak chassis 2007.

Yes, I thought I could just go to the local yard where they part out trucks and find a couple of saddle tanks and hangers and mount them up and feed the fuel into the main tank.

However, that did not happen.

Since, the tires are 19.5 inch, they tell me that is considered low profile and any regular tank would be too large, meaning it would be close to the ground.

The majority of tanks on the Kodiak and GMC Topkick are 50 gallons and would be too large. There were a few 35 gallon tanks made and were used on roll back trucks and special applications.

I bet I have contacted in excess of 100 yards and have only located one set of 35 gallon tanks but they are not planning of part out the truck as they say it "too" good.

One place told me I could get some tanks special built but still I would need hangers and the cost of $5-700 per tank would eat up any saving gained by buying at location where the price is less.

At this point, I am just overwhelmed.

Please let me know your ideas.

Thanks

Most of the tanks are of the 50-60 gallon size.

I located a "roll back" truck which came with the smaller tanks, 30 gallon, which I beleive will work but the gentleman said the truck is too good to part out.

The tanks are 30" long, 25" wide and 14" deep. There is a box in front of each tank. I can see battery cables in the passenger side box but not in the drivers side.

Yes, my batteries are under the passenger side step.

I haven't make a mock up but beleive they could would fit in a box in front of this size tank.

Thanks for the help.
