Default larger awning for a Vista Cruiser 17WRD?

The stock Awning seems so small and it looks like there is room for a wider one. Has anyone done this?

Thanks

Most definitely you can increase the length provided there is room. Awnings measure from center of arm to center of arm. And make sure there is enough room for the awning rail to be attached. We added a 21' awning completely different from the factory awning with legs that horribly attached to the wall of the coach always fearing they could come lose or the awning open while traveling I've heard and seen happen. Now with the new awning all that has been eliminated and the new awning works effortlessly at the touch of a button and doesn't interfere with any other component on the coach, like the entry door or slide that had to be kept clear of the old awning with those stupid cumbersome legs. The new awning came with white arms but ordered the paint to custom paint them to match the paint scheme of the coach to have them blend right in..

Also make sure of clearances such as heights above the doors and slides if they play a roll in where the awning is. Entry door clearance is typically minimum about 6" and much more if a slide is involved more clearance will be needed to allow for the extension of the slide.
