It could be several things, but a quick YouTube search shows a common issue with Ford cruise control not working is a de-activation switch that goes bad that is attached to the brake master cylinder. If you're handy, you can test that switch and change it if it is bad. Or you can talk to any auto mechanic about it. Of course a Ford dealer is an option, but probably not necessary.
