Default Tankless water heater

I just bought a 2005 Gulfstream Coach and want to upgrade to a tankless water heater without taking up more space and spending less the $500. Any Suggestions?

Although I have a tankless at our S&B, not sure I’d want one in an RV. If you’re on FHU all the time, might be alright but if not, the wasted water while waiting for hot could deplete your water supply quicker then necessary. I have endless hot water in our mh via the AquaHot, I’ve also never had a problem with the 6 or 10 gal water heater in other rv’s we’ve owned.

We purchased a 2007 Gulf Stream Yellowstone Country Club motorhome this summer and it has an AirXcel Suburban IW60 on demand tankless gas heater. We just started a major remodel of our home and have just moved in full time. The tankless heater is nice as we don’t run out of hot water, however, like the previous post mentioned it does take a little over a minute to warm up. While this doesn’t seem to be that long, and most the time we don’t mind, where I really notice it is when we go to wash our hands in the middle of the night after using the restroom ... this minute seems to be an eternity to wait and the cold water definitely wakes you up.

Here are two links of the unit we have:

I just bought my 2007 Independence Atrium. It came with a demand water heater mod and I have yet to try it out. I hope I like it. I am not familiar with them and I do have a question. When I winterize, is the OEM HW water tank still Installed and a potential reservoir of water I need to attend to? I always drained it on previous MH without demand water heaters. Sorry to high-jack your thread.

There is a mod you can do to a fixture that consists of a recirculation pump which will pump water from the hot water side back to the cold water side. This allows you to simply recirculate water through the tankless water heater until you actually get hot water. You push a button, the pump starts and recirculates water, a thermostat turns the pump off when the water is hot, and then you turn on your faucet with immediate hot water.

We are taking our 1st trip in a week. I suspect I will be very interested in this mod afterwards. Thank you sir.

We upgraded our 23fbs Vintage Cruiser to a tankless water heater. It's great if you're on a FHU but just camping in the woods, not so much. You end up wasting a lot of water waiting on the water to get hot in the kitchen. Which is the furthest faucet from the water heater. I'm now looking at installing a recirculating pump into the kitchen to alow the water to go back to the water heater instead of wasting it. But it's more money that you have to throw at this system.

I'm interested in how you did this. I have a small 120VAC tankless heater from a Modspace office trailer that I'd like to install downstream of my original water heater. Just for the purpose of being able to take longer showers. Well, that and my wife hasn't adjusted her water usage to only 6 gallons of hot water.
