Never took the rig into Canada, but have been back and forth many times in the car and on the bikes. With only two exceptions, it has always been just a few questions and you're on your way. In the Buffalo/Niagra area, at either the Peace Bridge or Rainbow Bridge, we have never been asked more than the standard questions. "what's your reason for traveling?" "How long are you staying?" "Are you carrying any firearms?"
Once on the way into Canada at Thousand Islands Bridge, our group of 6 was selected to go inside the border office and answer more questions and have our ID's checked. And once on the way back into the U.S. at Seaway Internatioal Bridge, my wife and I had our vehicles searched. Both instances happened while on the Harleys
.
I've always felt we were given a much closer look when traveling into the U.S. than out.
