Default How to replace the batterys

I have spent the better part of three days installing a US Gear brake on my 2004 sunvoyager. At one point I had to connect a wire to the postive cable of the truck battery. I ended up getting a stool and leaning through the front hatch to get to the battery and then had to tilt the battery on its side to get the side terminal loose , all the while trying to not short it out. I see that the grill is a seperate piece below the hatch. But I see no way to remove this, it would make servicing the batterys much easier. At this point I don't know if I have the strength to replace the battery if I have to do it through the hatch. Also see not way to get to it from below. What a bummer. Any Ideas would be appricated.
