Default 2009 Prairie Schooner

Hello guys - I'm currently pretty close to buying a used 2009 36ft Prairie Schooner that I'm really happy about. The price is good, the features are what I want and overall I like this unit better than any Forest River or Winnebago or other manufacturer that I've seen. With that said, the sales guy (bluuugh) at the Winnebago dealership flat out told me, do not, in any way shape or form buy a Gulf Stream 5th wheel. According to him, they are plagued with problems, poor build quality, unreliable customer service and so forth. Im fairly sure its just sales guy hot air bubbling from his face but before I commit 100% I'd really love to hear some feedback from the real world people who have these trailers.

Thanks for taking the time to read this posting and I hope to hear the opinions good or bad!!!

Your salesman is correct. Mine only lasted 5 months. Called GS, they actually told me sorry about your bad luck. The quality was not there. I bought a GS based on their reputation. Obviously, something VERY wrong has gone on over there, because I was completley dissatisfied. Mine was a 5th wheel also. I come on here, not to bash, but let people know that they do not stand behind product.

We have a 2005 Prairie Schooner and we love it! The only problems we have had is to replace the toilet ($100), kitchen faucet, ($100) and bathroom faucet ($30). We have lived in the unit full time for 2 1/2 years with 3 people and a big dog. The unit is holding up extremely well and we have been impressed with the quality.

I think you will be very happy with the Prairie Schooner, I have had two Canyon Trails, unlike the other poster Gulf Stream stood behind the products 100%. Like with any used vehicle go over it with a fine tooth comb, if there are any signs of water intrusion I would pass on it.
