Question Roof air conditioner while driving?

I have a 2004 Friendship G7. Does anyone know if it's OK to run a roof A/C unit while driving? Should the inverter power one of the units? I don't think running the generator while driving is a good idea.

It is perfectly okay to run your built-in (gas) generator while driving. If it gets gasoline from the same tank as the engine then obviously there will be a little more fuel consumption so keep an eye on the gas gauge; but your RV probably shuts off the generator when the gas gets down to 1/4 tank.

running the generator while 'driving' is what it is built for - to run your air conditioners or power anything while 'traveling' or 'parked' when no other electricity is available - but, NO, the inverter does not power the roof air conditioner - only Shore or Generator power can do that...

and, yes, MANY of us run our generator while driving - i'm not sure what any 'issue' or 'concern' you have might be.

My dash AC in my GS Scenic Cruiser is too weak if I have more than 100*F outside. I turn on the generator and let the roof AC do their job. Not a problem at all.

What about when your generator runs on LP, do you guys still have it running (if needed) while driving?

I run my house air conditioners when the weather is really hot and the dash air can not keep the coach cool. Just set your thermostat, start your diesel generator and drive down the road with a comfortable temperature inside your coach. You will have no problems.
