Default Rear Slide Cable

Anyone had to replace the cable for the rear (bedroom) slide on a TM? The cable has partially separated where it is connected to the bottom of the slide....

Thanks

Michael

WOW! Those are airplane type cables. Very hard to snap. Wonder it is was somehow cut or nicked.

Still waiting to hear from the repair shop. My theory is that something got jammed. The slide still worked! If I remember correctly the rear slide works via an electric motor and a geared track. Not even really sure what part the cables play....

Cables and pulleys on the wardrobe side and gear on the bed side. Then again, not sure what model you have. Ours is a T40B.

Repair shop said that the room was "out of alignment" which stressed the cables. They have adjusted and replaced the cables, should pick it up tomorrow.

We have the T-36

Default Cable Slide

I own a 2008 Tour Master T40A,the top forward exterior cable broke on our ist time out and has been replaced 3 times and is broken again.
I spoke with the manufacturer and the woman I spoke with claimed that the cause is the cable mout is mis alligned and it wil keep breaking until it is corrected. I have the cable repair kit on order and will replace the broken cable myself, hopefully I can correct the allignment issue.
I will let you know how I make out.

Not encouraging news!!! As I said, ours has been replaced but I have not had an opportunity to really check it out thoroughly yet. We have a major (8.000 trip over 2+ months) coming up and will have to hope I don't have the problem reoccur....

Default Cable repair kit

I would order a cable repair kit to have on hand if you run into a problem.

Hey all,

As fate would have it, mine top cable just started pulling out of the little end that it was attached to. 1/2 of it is now out.

So, the question are...1) Where did you get the cable system replacement? 2) Where did you get the documents on how to replace and align?

Thanks!

Hi David,

The manufacture is Norco industries/BAL.

It is a Accu-Slide cable, they sell the cable replacemant

Try this address, http://norcoind.com/bal/products/oem/ac ... ndex.shtml

If this does not work just google Norco industries and click on BAL for RV's

Hopefully that will work.

Thanks guys.

Gulf stream sent me back a note and said the cable repair kit is part number 49O213. I wonder if that is the GS part number.

Thoughts?

Well I purchased the Accu-Slide cable replacement kit, actually got two one for a backup, and went about the install.

It was not hard at all really as I had access to the end of the cable outside the coach. If the cable breaks and goes inside, then it's a whole differnt story.

I did not have a BIG CRIMP, who does? So I used 2 smaller cable holders that a are a u-bolt and a piece it goes into with 2 nuts. I tightened them down securely and we are all good. (Really only needed one but used two just in case.) I think they should come in the kit just in case this needs to be done in the filed as having a crimp that big most people will not have. I then checked the tension on all cables to be sure we were good and that they had the same tension IN as well as OUT leaving about 1" of play when pushed on when loose. (based on if it is in or out.) Both top and bottom cables.

All in all, good to go.
