Default Clicking noise L/Front wheel area.

Fellow Rver's

I took my 2004 GS BT Cruiser (Model 5270) for a joy ride today. I try and take it out every 2-3 week for a while just to keep all components workings.

As I was driving I have the drivers window down and heard a faint clicking noise coming from the left front wheel area. I only heard it when I was making a right turn or very faint going straight. No noise making a left turn. I stopped and looked under the RV but did not see anything. I do not know if it was always there or what. I usually have the windows up and AC on. It was such a nice cool day so I had the windows open.

Can any one give me an idea what this noise my be? The unit only has 20,656 mile on it. I thought it might be a brake pad spring clip clicking or something like that. Beside that, the RV was running fine.

Thanks in advance.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day. Don't forget to thank a vet...............

God Bless America,

There are several things that would make a clicking sound on a wheel, but the first thing I would check would be the wheel bearings. Usually when they are starting to go bad they will make a clicking sound.
The next thing that can make a clicking sound and I don't know if your motorhome has hub caps, but sometimes some coaches have the chrome caps that cover the complete steel rim and sometimes they will make noise.
Then there is a possibility of a brake hanging up while making a turn, but I doubt that would be it.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I took the SS hubcaps off and took the unit for a 5 mile ride. No clicking noise was heard going straight or making a right turn. I them put the SS wheel covers back on and continued on my way with out any noise. I had a feeling that it was the wheel covers but just wanted to put the imessage out to get some feed back which I did. Thanks to all who had input.

I did not jack the unit and and check the wheel bearing like you suggested. That was going to be my next item to take a look at. I thought I would go the easy route first and for once it paid off. I will wait a few week and take it out again to just make sure that was the problem.

Thanks again for the info. It did the trick. God Bless our troops and keep them safe........................

Glad to read that it was just the wheel caps.

My left front and sometimes right does the same thing. I'm 99% sure it is also the hub caps. Any thoughts on a fix? Some kind of pad or bumper between the cap and wheel? Thanks

Someone once told me if you have clicking Noise from wheel covers, put a light coating of grease where they contact the inside of the wheel(on the wheel) and the noise will go away. You may want to give that a try.

Sir this may sound silly but it sounds like a small pebble got in tire and you heard it tapping as the wheels went around. Happens to me all the time
