Default Vintage Cruiser 19 CSK furnace access

My furnace has stopped igniting and I believe it is a simple issue of a dirty sail switch but I can’t figure how to access it. Looking for some guidance. There is no access panel on the outside - it’s just the exhaust vent. And the access on the inside is through the outflow vent panel and front of the furnace. See photos.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

On another forum the following video was shared with me.

It’s very instructive but unfortunately when I tried it I found the furnace wiring harness was too short to pull the furnace out of the compartment. May be different on yours and this was by no means difficult to try. Worth a shot.

Taking mine into the dealer tomorrow. Hoping they can extend the wiring for future maintenance.

Default Sail switch

We had a similar problem with intermittent function of the furnace due to the sail switch when cold. What fixed it was to bend the sail position more into the air flow stream so it worked reliably at cold temps.

Default Update

An update on this. I ended up taking it into the dealer, who reported a flurry of sail switch failures in these small camper furnaces over recent months across all brands. They replaced the sail switch through the warranty and we’ve had no problem since. Dealer reported that with the new sail switches their experience is that this eliminates most future problems. Note that I tried to remove the furnace following the video posted but was unsuccessful because the wiring harness was too short, hence consulting the dealer.

Anyway, went camping this weekend and was toasty warm!
