Default Hello!

I discovered this board today. It's nice to have a place for GS owners to converge.

I purchased my 28TRS in May of 2005. It was sold under the "StreamLite" line, but it appears it is now under the Gulf Breeze line. My guess is that it is really a 2004 built 2005 model. Anyway, I am quite happy with it. I have not had any major issues (knock on wood!) yet, But here are some of my minor fixes:
  • Plugged holes in wheelwell under the sink with caulk so ants can't get in.
Plugged holes in flooring with foam insulation in a can, where wiring comes into the coach to the breaker panel.
Straightened 115V plug by rear slide. When I took the panel off, I could see the slide motor mechanism. I also found a 1/4 in. drive flexible extension inside the panel on the floor that the factory or dealer left in.
Caulked around top of bathtub/shower wall to keep water from seeping into the wall.
Replaced missing stove grate rubber grommet with one from Home Depot.
    Fixed loose window shade valance.
I like tinkering, so these "repairs" were not a big deal.

New adds:
  • Spice shelf just under range vent hood. Purchased from Ikea.
Installed switch in fridge cabinet to control porch light.
Screwed in a hook in middle of rear slide ceiling to route wire for courtesy light.
Fastened plastic drawers under sink to cabinet frame more securely.
Added shelf in cabinet under TV shelf.
Added coach battery shutoff switch. Purchased from JC Whitney.
Installed screen door closer spring. Purchased from Camping World.
Purchased small child's toy box to serve as a coffee table.
    Added area rugs.
Coat rack that installs over the bathroom door.
    Homemade wheel chocks.
Future adds:
  • Add switch to control water heater electric power from inside coach.
    Replace cheesy radio/CD player.
Add flat panel TV and mount to wall above TV shelf.
Add digital thermostat and integrate into A/C unit.
Bike rack that attaches to aftermarket hitch receiver welded to frame.
Likes:
  • Rear slide.
Roomy for the three of us.
Stove vent hood exhausts to outside. Outside vent can be locked to keep bugs out.
Adequate storage (for three of us).
    Tight frame construction.
    Dual grey water tanks.
    Solid wood cabinets.
Dislikes:
  • Toilet sits at an odd angle.
Rear bed is a little short. I have to be at an angle to stretch my feet.
    Not wired for satellite.
    Cheesy radio/CD.
LPG tanks don't have level indicator built in.

All in all, it makes for a fun RVing/camping experience!
