Default Question About Cable Jacks on a Conquest 25RKS

Hi Folks,

We have a 2007 Gulfstream Conquest Travel Trailer Model 25RKS. The dealer from whom we purchased it, Sagon RV, went out of business, so they are not around to answer our naive questions. May we please ask you a couple of questions that will probably be pretty simple for you? Our unit has a crank-up TV antenna on the top. It also has what appear to be two TV cable jacks on the outside of the unit - one near the slideout and one near the bedroom window opposite of the fold-down TV table. What are these outside cable jacks for? Could we hook up a coax from a local cable TV provider to one of these jacks and then get cable TV inside of the trailer? Would we need to disconnect the original TV antenna if we did this? Is this simply a way to hook up a TV for outside viewing when camping? This information is not in any of the manuals we received when we bought the unit. Any assistance that you could provide will be most appreciated. Thanks.

Best Wishes,
Jim Roberts

Somewhere inside your unit should be an outlet-sized box. In mine, it hangs down from underneath the cabinet over the kitchen sink. There is probably a 12-volt outlet (cigar lighter outlet) and a TV coax plug on the face of the box. There is also a red button and a red light on the face of this box.

When you push the red button the red light comes on. This is the crankup antenna amplifer. When the red light is on, the amplified signal from the crankup antenna goes to the TV outlets. When the red light is off, the signal from the external cable TV hookup goes to the TV outlets.

In my case, the external cable TV hookup is in one of the storage compartments. In your case, it may be one of the two you describe. If one of those is under the awning and one is on the driver's side, then the one on the driver's side is most likely the cable connection and the one under the awning is for watching TV outside.
