Default Mirror Issues

Rough road and high winds I think did in my passenger side mirror. It leans to the left and the right but is tight forward and towards the back. So how can I tighten that down or do I need a new one...

Was fun driving the 1100 miles home that way ...

Thanks for any help,
Buck

2007 GS TM. BOTH mirrors have the 'lazy ear' syndrome. In 5 years, I've yet to find a good solution. Hadley, the company that makes them, has turned out to be impossible to contact, and replacement is really expensive. The design is flawed. Having only one anchor point causes it to be unstable. The best I can offer is cut some thick (as in 1/2") rubber strips, wrap them around the base, then using metal hose clamps, (like you would use for a radiator hose), outside and tighten as much as possible.

There is a single allen bolt that sets the tension.

Position the mirror housing vertical and rotate to get center range on electric mirror then lock it down with the allen bolt

Don't be afraid to lean on it hard to lock it down, 35-40 ft lbs.

I dealt with this on my 07 Crescendo Fred.

I put as much pressure as I could, but it didn't hold. I think the rubber grommet is just too worn out. If you know where I can get a new grommet...

Do these have black plastic bushings inside the pivot housing where the allen head set screws tightens down to. If so they make aluminum replacements for the black plastic, they work great.

Something like this?
