Default Vent Covers

The plastic vent cover on the Amerilite MB21 that I have was just replaced on a 2 year old unit. Has anyone else had trouble with the plastic on these? This one just seemed to become brittle and fall apart (you could break it in your hand).

The replacement vent cover cost was about $12, it didn't make sense to make the 100 mile round trip to the dealer to fix this, when we have an RV supply store about 6 miles from the house.

I haven't had that problem with my vent covers, although I did buy and install the MaxAir vent covers over the top of all 3 of my vent covers. I do have a problem with my plastic rain gutter spouts and the plastic joint covers on the outside edges of my sofa slide. These plastics too have become very brittle and break when you bump them. Must be the "high quality" plastics that they use when they build these things.

I would suggest you cover your vents with the MaxAir vent covers to avoid any future issues with your vents. Then you can leave your vents open even when it rains!

Thanks Tom - I'll pass that suggestion on the the hubby. Then again, I can just purchase them for Christmas and he'll have to install them, won't he?

Sounds like a good plan to me!
