Default AM/FM radio

My trailer came with a cheapo DVD/Stereo player that only works on shore power, and terrible reception. I would like to install an AM/FM car stereo but need to know how I can install the antenna on the roof. Anyone ever do this?

I myself would be fearful of cutting a whole on the roof. Maybe try this though.

Use a splitter on the TV antenna jack. Then use a 75 Ohm to 50 Ohm connector on one side of the splitter for the radio and of course the other side is for the TV. Only down side I can see is the amplifier. I 'm sure it doesn't have the bandwidth to amplify radio signals but it might have given you enough gain to get better radio reception.

I solved this by getting a Sirius "Boom box" the antenna I ran through the cabinets in the kitchen and out the exhaust vent over the hood. It is not AM/FM but it is 12 volt and I can get weather and sports without running the generator.
