Default Replace backup light

Need to replace backup light in my 2005 5230 ford e350 v10. Need to know how to do that. Thanks for any advice.

I recommend taking the old one out so you can see what type of connection is being made. Is it a pigtail with a plug, is it direct wired, etc. Then, you can take that old one to a Napa or auto or farm/truck/trailer store to match up a replacement. Best case is finding a new one that plugs right in. Sometimes, you just have to get what you can find, even if it is different, and wire in a new pigtail. Tip: mix up some soapy water in a spray bottle and squirt down where the edge of the light and the grommet touch. It'll help get the old light out. Once the new grommet is in, spray down the grommet just before inserting the new light and it'll go in much easier. Good luck.

Here is a good video... https://youtu.be/Bmapxhdrza8

Default Great advice yet again!

Between what you said and the link to the video I will be able to do this. Once again, thanks for the excellent advice!

Finally got around to it. Autozone did not have the backup light. Got it at Napa Auto Parts. No pigtail included, but the connection was identical to the old one. Sprayed soapy water around the edges as advised, and pried it out with little difficulty. The new one went in fairly easily, and works fine. Thanks for the helpful advice.
