The Amish live without electricity. They have a conversion of a standard ammonia refrigerator. It's supposed to be more efficient. I have seen post about it but can't seem to find a place to do the job. I live in the middle of a large Amish community.

I got Amish replace coil about a year ago. Replaced it myself. If you are mechanically inclined it isn’t a hard job. Just remember to mark all the wires and take plenty of pictures.


It has performed nicely. Was camping last week and it was over 90 everyday. Didn’t seem to be working well. I moved the thermistor up on the coil and she did fine all week
