Default 2000 Tourmaster 8402 fuel tank capacity??

Hi everyone. I bought a 2000 Tourmaster 8402 TM-LX last year. It's equipped with the 11 liter Cummins 450 HP engine. The Gulfstream brochure shows fuel capacity for models 8403, 8404, 8405, 8424 & 8430 as being 150 gallons - no published data for the 8402 in the brochure. The largest amount of fuel I've boarded in several fills has been 57 gallons with the tank gauge showing 1/4 full. If 57 gallons represents 3/4 of a tank, then my tank capacity would be only 75 gallons. That's a very significant difference from the published 150 gallons!

I have a couple of questions:

Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to determine the actual fuel capacity of the tank? (I tried to contact Gulfstream last fall - left a message requesting info, but no response)

Is it possible that the tank is split into 2 sections with a connecting valve, and maybe I'm only accessing half the actual capacity?
Thanx in advance for any info or suggestions.

Ken.
I bought a 2000 Gulf Stream Tour Master with the Spartan K2 chassis in December 2019. I have traveled about 1700 miles and 200 gallons. I have added over 100 gallons when then tank gage read 1/3. So, I’m guessing your gage may be off?
I hope we keep in touch. It would be nice to learn from each other.

Thanx for the reply, Ron. That's really helpful. I'll look into the gauge. My MPG over 3000 miles are similar to yours, so your explanation is likely valid. I've been contemplating measuring the tank dimensions so I could convert cubic feet into gallons, but the tank isn't easily accessible. I've had my Tourmmaster for only 6 months longer than you, so yes, staying in touch would appeal to me. I'll send you an email. .. Ken
