Default Endura buyers beware!!!

If you are thinking of buying a Gulf Stream Endura you should look very carefully at the coach battery installation. It is extremely difficult to service the coach batteries, and Gulf Stream failed to provide maintenance free batteries.
There is no room to use a tester to check the specific gravity of each cell. You need a long handle mirror and flashlight to see into the cells.
When you service the inside battery you need to crawl under the truck, and wedge yourself up along side the frame to get to the inside battery?s top.
Yes I failed to look at this when I ordered the unit. It is my fault.
I am writing this to warn others, and maybe new customers can cause Gulf Stream engineers to fix the battery-servicing problem. When you look at the Gulf Stream Enduras think about changing out the batteries or how many hours of labor you are going you pay someone to do it for you.
With out proper battery maintenance you will be buying new batteries every year or paying someone to do the work for you plus the cost of new batteries.
If Gulf Stream cannot provide easy access to maintain the batteries Gulf Stream or the selling dealer should provide no maintenance, never need water batteries.

Get a Pro-fill system from Camping World and never worry about checking them again...just drop the feed tube into a gallon of distilled water and pump the bulb until its hard. Thats it...all cells filled properly.

These Pro-Fill setups are not cheap, but the savings i time, effort, acid spills, etc. makes up for it for sure.

Just wanted to thank you for that info. When we went back to purchase the rv, we couldn't find the battery. Finally....it was in a side compartment thing and very easy to get to. The other one was as well, but I appreciate the info.

Default Batteries

Just a quick note; while your under there hooking up your pro-fill check the mounting bolts on the hydraulic pump; ours came loose and caused extremely inconsistent operation of our slides; sometimes they would work sometimes they wouldn't; the pump is grounded through its mounting bolts; cost us about $ 500.00 to discover this simple problem; Happy RVing, Jeff.

Default Endura Battery Mount

Yes, the batteries are in a very difficult place. I moved mine back when I installed the Xantrex MS3000 inverter. Made it much easier, now I, gonna order the CW filling kit too...as everyone suggested.

Good luck....
