Default Toad questions

New to this forum but not new to RV's or class "A"s. What I am new at is holidaying in our 2000 Sun Voyager. How can this be? Well we have spent the last 20 odd years out in our RV's about 20 to 30 trips a year to motorcycle races, quad races, wilderness off road areas etc etc. Never have gone on a real holiday, have always towed a trailer with the toys. Enough, what I need is help with the issue of towing our Geo Tracker. Flat tow? Dolly? Throw it in the trailer? If flat towing what do I do about the steering lock?

Help.

Welcome. Our reference has been the FMCA (Family Motor Coach Assoc) tow guide. They have a web site and the guide is there. Charlie

Default Towing a Tracker

Tracker tows marvelously. You probably will not know it is behind you.

Flat tow. Owner's manual will give you directions on how to. I put the transfer case of mine in neutral (I had the rare Tracker w/auto trans), and towed it some 80K miles.

Trailer and wheels up: nice if you want to carry other "stuff" with you. I've seen Tracker + motorcycle+fishing pontoon, ++++ on a trailer.

Again FMCA site, great info there.

Thanks guys, sounds like the real decision is do we want the bicylces, street bike as well as the Tracker, or just our runabout. Probably leave that decision to she who must be obeyed and then work out the technical details. Checking out the towing site as we speak.

I have been using a Tandem Tow Dolly for little over a year, it allows me to dolly a Toad and carries a motorcycle or ATV too. Works well if you want/need to carry a toad and toys.
