Inverter not working
Electric does not work because inverter doesn’t switch over . What to do?

Electric inverter does not switch over to work.
We get no electric output from plugged in or generator because inverter does not switch over.

The inverter in my 07 bt cruiser has four fuses that are on the bottom of the unit and are hard to see. These are in addition to the 12v control circuit fuses in the fuse/breaker box.
I bet these are the problem if you have no voltage in any circuits.

Inverter/converter
We have checked the fuses and breakers in inside panel and all fine. When plugged in, we get voltage to plugs but nothing else works. When generator on nothing works and no voltage to plugs. What to do?

It sounds like your Transfer switch is not working!
The transfer switch switches 120 volt from generator to your plug when you are plugged in power post. The transfer switch decides where your 120 volt power will be supplied from, generator when running or your plug when plugged in.
The inverter uses 12v battery power from your batteries provide 120 volts ac to some 120 volt plugs, appliances. It does not supply 120 volt AC to all your 120 volt needs.

In my 07 BT Cruiser the inverter is near the hot water heater and behind the fuse-breaker box. Be aware that if the inverter fuses are blown they may be blown for a good reason. Fuses blow to protect equipment and wiring that have a defect or short.

Inverter fuses
Attached are photos showing the location of the inverter in my 07.
Last fall when I was working on winterizing my rv, like a dummy I shorted out my house battery against the frame. The result was no 12 v power in any low voltage circuits. Fuses in the fuse box were ok so I removed the inverter and discovered that I had blown the four 15 amp fuses that are on the lower part of the unit. Replaced fuses, problem solved.

(Comment about GEN changes scenario); problem is NOT INVERTER, problem might be: 1) CIRCUIT BREAKER OUT ON THE GENERATOR; 2) (w/ Onboard GEN) AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH failure; 3) Gen ELECTRICAL FAILURE?; 4) (If model WITHOUT ATS) Failure of operator to move PLUG from SHORELINE to GEN receptacle.

(Sorry, BUTTER, but terminology correction for you) the (silver) PD9160 shown in photo is a CONVERTER, which converts 120VAC to 12vDC (or , as label says 13.4vdc, which is "trickle charge"). An INVERTER converts 12VDC to 120VAC. I am also assuming the black box in photos is the backside of the BREAKER/ FUSE PANEL?

Transfer Relay
Your Inverter "inverts" 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC power. If you are not getting any power, know your batteries are not dead, and there are no blown fuses or tripped breakers; start by checking voltage in and out of your transfer relay switch.

I'm confused. I thought your first post said you got NOTHING when plugged into shore power - which is it?
If you are 'getting voltage to plugs', then your are getting Shore Power thru your ATS, and it's not the issue, nor the Inverter. What do you mean by 'nothing else works'??
If your generator's breakers(on the generator itself) are tripped, you won't get anything from it, either.
