I purchased an old 1993 Gulfstream 8340 Scenic Cruiser. No manuals are available. My cabin lights and outlets quit working off battery power. Everything works fine if I fire up the generator. Is this an inverter problem?? If so, are replacements available?

Cabin lights usually run off 12 volts DC from the house battery. Outlets that run off battery power run through the inverter. Since you have an issue with both I would suspect a DC power issue that is related to both. If everything works with the generator it could be a problem with your house battery. The generator powers up the converter charger and that powers the lights and supplies the power to the outlets. The problem might be that the battery isn’t taking a charge. If you have a voltmeter check your battery.

Look for a blown fuse or corroded connection first. Do a Google search using — 1993 Gulf Stream 8340 electrical fuse location.

Since all works well w/ GEN=ON, and batteries charged well enough to crank/ start GEN, all is working well/ as designed, but battery switch is disconnected, which stops battery power from reaching 12vdc FUSE PANEL for coach. Fuse panel sends 12vdc to lights. The battery power to GEN and GEN controller remote is entirely separate wire from coach power and is NOT controlled by battery switch.
