2005 BT electrical problem

I am new to website and have a 2005 BT cruiser that the electrical is giving a problem. It sat for about 2 yrs. with no use . I thought my Or be able yo tell me if yhe aux problem was the convertor I bought a new one installed it and nothing worked. then checked the 3 fuses underneath the slide they seem to be working. The only way I get the step to operate is to jump the red and pink wire at the convertor which I think is 4 gauge. would anyone have a print gulf stream CE1235 chassis harness HCCP. Or if the Aux. start solenoid might be the problem. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Gulf Stream doesn’t publish there wiring diagrams, at least that’s what they told me when I had a question on some wiring. Did you check the fuses for continuity? This way you know for sure if the fuse it good or bad

gulf stream doesn’t publish there wiring diagrams, at least that’s what they told me when i had a question on some wiring. Did you check the fuses for continuity? This way you know for sure if the fuse it good or bad

I also have a 2005 BT and haven't come across this, are you able check the switch that senses the doors opening and closing? Do you have a meter ?

Yes I do have a meter, but what is puzzling to me is that after buying a new convertor and installing it nothing happened. Then bought a new auxillary battery , installed it and things worked for a couple of days then same problem. Nothing works again. Am a dummy I guess.

RE: 2005 BT Cruiser Door Open / Close Switch

This sensor is a Normally Open Magnetic Reed Switch.

You will find it mounted near the bottom of the hinge side of the screen door.

The wires are tucked behind the door frame.

Make sure the magnet on the door is aligned with the switch mounted to the frame.

You can check it with a permanent magnet by moving the magnet over the switch with the screen door open.

With the door open there should be a voltage drop, (vdc), across the switch, (open), with the door closed it should read 0vdc, (closed), see drawing below. If it reads 0vdc with the door open or closed, you can cut one of the wires and the step should come out.

These magnetic reed switches do fail and are available online.

Google the part number on the switch to find a replacement part.
