Good Morning and Happy 4th!
As I work my way thru our new to us '08 Kodiak 5500 Gladiator 8.1L, I think the emergency start solenoid is not working, or is stuck in the "on" position. I had an odd chassis battery drain the pulled it down to zero recently and even after charging, the "emergency start" switch had no effect. No click or change in dash voltmeter voltage. I'd like to check the solenoid (Thrombetta?). Anyone have any idea where to look? I am going to check out the "Power Distribution" box in the coach battery compartment today, but I'll be surprised to find it there.

Thanks for any and all input.

The solenoid in my 2008 Conquest class c is located inside the Power distribution box. I had to pull the power distribution box cover off and it was bolted to the rear of the power distribution panel inside the power distribution box.

Thanks. I looked in there and saw a variety of self resetting circuit breakers, and ones that would have to be manually reset, but no solenoid. I will take a second look today.
I did find it odd that to get inside it you needed a 3/8 nut driver, or something similar. Kind of a pain to access, especially if you were in a stressful situation trying to solve a problem.
On a 2001 Monaco we just sold, the similar box had thumbscrews to make access a "no tools needed" kinda deal.
I have to say that thus far i'm not really impressed with GS and the build quality. Maybe jsut my rig, but it seems pretty cheaply built and poor quality control throughout. Toyhaulers like this are a bit hard to find (or afford) so maybe you get what you pay for...
Thanks again for thetip, and happy trails!
Doug
