We have been looking for a vehicle to flat tow behind our 2021 E350 5210. We recently returned from a 7000 mile trip and saw a lot of towed vehicles. One ranger in Arkansas pulled a Fiat 500c. We spoke to him and he loved that car.
We were thinking about towing a pickup. That way we could put a cap on it and use it for storage.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated?

I towed a stick shift Toyota Corolla since you can not tow an automatic Toyota. You have to find an automatic that can be flat towed.

Another option is to rent or buy a trailer that can carry your preferred vehicle. This gives you more options on what vehicle to purchase.

Chevy Spark for us works great.

We flat tow a Fiat 500C pop. I don't even know it is back there and I check my backup camera to make sure it's there. My three large dogs can fit in back of the Fiat for side trips when set up in camps. I have a 450 chassis under my 2006 BT 5270. It's been on several 3000 plus mile trips. The back of the Fiat is big enough to hold two of the RV tires and wheels. Don't ask how I know as that is a long story.

Do you have it setup with remote braking?
We use NSA Ready Brute Elite 2 The breaking system is set up in the towbar. This is the best system that I could find that did it all without having to run a separate breaking box inside the vehicle and power wires.

We tow a 2020 Jeep Gladiator, it’s very versatile.

I own a 1999 Chevy Blazer that we bought used. It was pulled 4 down behind a Class A. It has a 4x4 selector that can go into free wheeling. Is the Gladiator the same? Our poor Blazer with 240K miles showing isn’t trusted to travel far.
