Adding Storage Racks to a 2003 BT Cruiser: What’s Behind the Rear Wall?

My wife and I just bought a 2003 BT Cruiser. Just want to say hi. We are near Cocoa beach Florida.

Welcome. I’m new, too. We just bought a 2003 BT Cruiser. Maybe you can provide some advice. I want to add some storage racks to the back of the RV, but wonder about what’s under the shell, and whether it will hold the extra luggage. Do you have any info about what is under the skin on the back?

Hey Bill
We have a ladder and a tire on the back. The tire has a board with the tire mount bolt through it on the inside of the wall, you can see it behind the toilet The ladder is attached to the wall with the shower on the other side, so I can only guess there is some type of support system behind the shower wall also. I bought a cargo carrier with a hitch mount, our hitch is rated for 300 pound tounge weight. The cargo carrier is rated for 700 pounds. Still, 300# is a decent load.
