If you find the Convex mirror cannot be adjusted because it is tight. To access the adjustment screw, you will need to remove the convex mirror to gain access to mounting screw. I followed the instruction on utube and found that the mirror was glued in place.
Replacement mirror $53.65 on Amazon. The attached photo is the adjustment screw located behind the glass. Yes I had to break the glass

You did not mention year/ model, but my Velvac research when my 99/ 2000-year Ford Class-C passenger side mirror suddenly only showed asphalt was that mine was a Velvac Model #2025, and 2025 had no tension screw adjustments; all/ almost all other/ later model # had hidden external access allen screws for tension adjust. I had to carefully tension cap screws on an added shim where a yoke cap that straddled a round rod for pivot up/ down. Cannot recall if shim was coke can metal or matchbook cardboard; I recall I considered both. It has worked well since 2017 with no further action.

Good information, I attach file copy of the 2022 year model,
