I have a 2004 Ford E 450 5720 BT Crusier that i need to relpace the monitor in the sunvisor, i know its 21 years old so i need to relace the camera also. has anyone relaced theirs and if so will a wire less one be ok or do i need to rewire it? Thanks

I will have to do something similar in the future. I have a Jensen AOM561 Backup Camera/alarm with display monitor in driver visor. I've pieced together a little info on mine (see attached pdf). I haven't looked at replacement cameras/displays yet, but thought I would stay hard-wired for simplicity. Please post info on what unit you select as a replacement. Good luck!

I have a 2006 5290 I had the same problem. The hard wire broke where it goes into the visor. I bought a wireless system. The monitor sits on the the engine compartment The camera is wired to the clearance light. When your driving the parking lights must be on so there is power to the light. Don’t forget to turn off the lights when you’re parked so it doesn’t kill the battery

I thought I had to replace the camera on my 2016 BT Cruiser 5210 but it wound up being the 30’ RCA video cable. It had 2 wear spots and the wire opened where it went up to the camera by the rear bumper. I replaced the wire and it fixed the issue. If the wire / power is good to the camera it should be a quick swap. Most mirror monitors come with cameras.
I think the only downfall with wireless cameras is there is a delay in the video.
