My backup Camera has stopped again. This is the second one that goes out after about three months. I have wired it to my running lights so it works full-time. Does anyone know of a rear camera that is made to work full-time? My my

Yours may be differed than mine. In my 2008 BT Cruiser is that the camera is powered from the monitor. 12V goes from the fuse box to the monitor. The Camera's only connection was a 4 pin cable from the monitor. The monitor is triggered to power on by the reverse signal (which is optional). I hope this helps. Good luck.

Back up Camera

Your camera may not be getting enough voltage if you are running conventional incandescent lights. I recently replace my 20-year-old system with a wireless color screen unit. My camera came with instructions on how to check for voltage drop and suggested LED lights to offset voltage drop. I had already changed all my bulbs to LED so I had next to no voltage drop. I think low voltage could be burning up the electronics of your cameras. Good luck.

Our 2018 Gulfstream BT Cruiser has a switch just below the display that actually will turn the camera off. I didn’t notice it for the longest time until ours quit working. It will turn camera display off even in reverse.

After market one

Our 2024 6250 backup camera was awful, built into the screen which also has the radio dash. It didn't come with a rear view camera, only a useless mirror that shows you the inside of the camper. Bought Haloview 10 thats wireless, worked immediately from installing on rear view mirror and back of camper. It does need to be charged and lasted about 7hrs for a trip. Looking now they have a newer one, Haloview Byte Tango BT11 which includes blind spot monitoring! hmmm maybe I need an upgrade. :)

Rearview mirror camera system NICE

I have had a rearview mirror camera system on a B van and the BT 5210 and they are very nice. They are both hard wired and have worked seamlessly. The screen shot is the model I am using on the Gulf Stream. It also has GPS for a speed readout and a front facing camera. There is a shock sensor if the camper gets bumped it save a recording from both cameras.

I recently replaced the Dual flip screen radio head unit. It was impossible to see as it came out so far when deployed. I replaced it with a Dual single din unit. No dvd. The camera system rear and mirrors came into the Unit through a single RCA connector. I installed a 7” color display for the cameras. This is much nicer and much more useful. I also installed a 9” apple car play monitor for entertainment and navigation.
