Battery isolation? - GS-2021-conquest

I have been working with Gulfstream support, but getting nowhere, the literature says the chassis 12v will charge the house 12v while the engine is running and keep the house/chassis 12v isolated from one another when the engine is off.

I have confirmed all of the above but have not been able to positively identify the battery isolation module and how it is wired to perform all of the above functions/etc.

Help?..

Most likely you have a module made by Intellitec that does this function. Look for a unit that is similar to this one in this link:

I have found this part near the battery (and with direct connection to the battery):

but cant find any wiring information and it seems to have continuity between both poles regardless of whether the engine is on or off which doesn't seem correct.

Since I do not have access to the wiring diagram of your specific rig, I cannot determine if that relay is a latching type (but it does not appear to be from the web page you referenced...)


Are you measuring actual "continuity" with the power removed using an ohmmeter, or is the continuity inferred by measuring voltage on both sides of the relay???


Do you have any wiring diagram or excerpt of this area of the coach that you can post? In your conversations with Gulf Stream Support, you should make a request for the diagram specific to your RV so help can also be specific... Please post the diagram when you receive it.

Assuming Class-C Conquest, the older ones on Ford Econoline cutaway chassis had no module, just a simple continuous duty solenoid controlled by fuse/relay IGN=ON. Solenoid and Breaker on many= under Hood, on firewall, forward of driver. The charge side also has a 12vdc circuit breaker w/ RESET mounted next to solenoid. Not sure about later model, or chevy chassis? The (more expensive) modules for two-way charging were usually reserved for Class-A rigs w/ multi coach batteries? Hope this helps?

Near the battery? Which battery chassis/start or coach battery? If coach, likely a BOOST solenoid, controlled by wall rocker switch, or possible rocker or push button on DASH? Mine has BOOST solenoid under BATTERY SWITCH, and rocker switch for Boost function on wall beside step.
