2006 model 5291 gulfstream. Start the engine cabin batteries receive a charge. Turn motor off , plug in shore power line no charging is detected.

I have nearby a/c plug and have place a small trickle charger setup back to the batteries as a hillbilly fix.

Any comments appreciated.

When you're plugged into shore power, your converter (110v->12V) should be providing charging voltage as well as provide you with 12V power to your lights, etc. If your batteries are draining when plugged into shore power and you have your lights and other 12V accessories on, that converter is suspect.

I've got a 2007 Class A and my converter is actually plugged in to an outlet off of the main distribution panel. I would check to make sure that converter is actually powered on and producing 12V. Depending on the model of your converter, it should generally produce 14.3V until your batteries are getting full and then it will stage down the voltage into the 13.6V range.

Does this help? I've gone down the converter road before so let me know if you have any questions.

Just have to track down where the broken converter is? I’m not very smart.

I'd recommend posting the location question in the B+ forum category which is BT Cruiser questions live. Use a good descriptive title such as "2006 BT Cruiser Conquest Converter location" and that will get you traction for sure. If you'd like, I can move this conversation over there and retitle it. Just let me know and happy to help!

If 50a, reset pole breaker and RV 50a, then reset (15a?} breaker to CONVerter. If no help, check the two REVERSE POLARITY fuses (one feeds converter power to fuse panel, other feeds fuse panel power to/ from Battery. If you momentary connected battery backwards, or grounded/ sparked a main line, you blew one/ both. If you have 13.2-13.6vdc or greater at fuse panel, but not at battery, check the fuse/ 12vdc breaker next to battery? Check BATTERY SWITCH, if equipped; believe most GS/ BT do have.

I have a 2006 BT5290 and had the same problem. My converter was behind the fuse/breaker panel in the hall. Once I removed the panel I found the converter. There are 3 car type 30amp fuses. I had to replace all 3 and was back up running. Never found out what caused the fuses to fail but may be due to me having a trickle charger on the batteries when I plugged in to shore power.
