:( OK, here is one for the "books" !!

Cruisin' thru New Hampshire on Secondary rds, great senary.

I smell anti freeze !! Temp gauge OK, then steam comes up thru the doghouse !! Get off check and sure enough major leak.

Call Good Sam ESP, 1-1/2 hours later mechanic shows up. Turns out this guy is good  Starts to remove the doghouse and then says "let me check something" ..... a knock on the floor .. " I found it and your not gonna believe this !!"

It seems that the "keeper" on the top radiator hose had NEVER
been RELEASED.

It had held for 17,000 mi. and finally blew off. SOOOO 1/2 hour later , i new SCREW hose clamp and Five gallons of Anti-Freeze later I am back on the road !! :p

Whoda Thunkit ?? :?: :?:

Glad for you that it wasn't more serious!

On one of our MH trips to Mexico to do Christmas there we had an issue with my FIL's DP losing power and barely able to make the next town to the tune of less than 30mph! Glad to find a diesel shop open on a Saturday.....we went out to eat then headed back to the shop to have them tell us that we lost a clamp on the turbo. One hose clamp later and we were back on the road! Those pesky clamps!!! :D
