Converter works but no power

Hi all,

I’m new to the RV life but slowly getting smarter. I purchased this 04 Gulfstream ultra light and I can’t get the lights to work or main power inside the camper to work. Some outlets work but I believe that’s because those are AC power. I purchased 2 new Duracell agm batteries and I’m using shore power (30amp). I tested the automatic transfer switch and breaker panel to ensure the 120v is carrying thru to the converter and breaker panel. All the main breakers are reading 120v. The converter had 2 blown fuses which I charged and now the converter is reading 13.56v so I believe it’s working correctly. I checked all the fuses in the electrical panel, all are good. I made a diagram based on what I believe is my camper setup. I’m trying to figure out how do I check if I have power coming back into my fuse panel? I see the power wire (circled red) but I can’t find a negative. Is there potentially another disconnect that I can’t see from the amp relay back to the panel (green line in diagram)? Is there anything else I should be checking?

Those ‘amp breakers’ are essentially your circuit breakers for your DC side. Have you verified that they are closed? They will pop open and you can just reset them.

You can also do continuity checks with your meter to verify circuit continuity between all the points in the system. Find your break that way.

As far as a ground at your fuse panel, there should be a common ground point for that DC side back there. Or, just snag a known frame ground nearby. I bought a Power Probe to make troubleshooting easy because you can bring a known ground with you. Super cool.

I have a 8393 Tour Master and had no 12 volt power at all when I purchased this rig this year. Troubleshooting quickly pointed to the automatic breaker, Klixon CDLA-80, which I replaced with a Klixon SDLA-80 breaker. This cured the issue.

I don't know if your rig is the same but thought I would mention this.

Good luck.
