Hello All! Hope you're doing well.
My wife and I are interested in purchasing a BT Cruiser, more specifically the 5210.
We are avid fisherman and love to travel to partake.
Most of our fishing rods are 1-piece, between 7-8ft.
I was considering either mounting a tall box on the rear wall of the RV, or mounting rod holders on the ceiling inside of the coach.
Has anyone here drilled into the ceiling on the inside of the coach? What should I look out for? I know there are ducted AC vents, and possibly wiring running through the ceilings in certain areas.
Thank you all in advance.

I tried to reattach the fire alarm to ceiling on our BT 5230 (2022) and found that the screws would not hold they just pull out. Check out the construction material on Gulf Stream web site. I finally attached the fire alarm with double sided tape and a magnetic plate. We remove fire alarm from ceiling when traveling.

Had the ceiling down the panel are very thin. There is aluminum framing running side to side. There are 4 ducts 7” x 1 1/2”. They line up with the grills. You could use wall anchors to attach your hangars.

Thank you , wall anchors did not hold in existing holes. But we have solved our issue.

Just a thought, you could attach to the aluminum cross members. This would be a more secure mounting.

We have decided not to poke any holes that we can use double side tape to secure items. We plan to upgrade to a newer model coach in a few years. And want a nice coach to sell.

Hello Just two, thank you for your very detailed response.
Quick question(s), in the first picture, the wood that runs from the front to the back of the coach, is that something you installed or is it factory? And if factory, are these screwed into the aluminum framing?
Thank you!

Just a thought, have you looked at using a dump storage tube or gutter down tubes mounted under the RV?

Camcorder makes one that expands up to 80” and has a 41/2 “ opening that can be locked?

Hey Wildtoad,

Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, my shortest rods would be around 84" with the average being around 90". Also, when we fish, we bring around 8-9 rods between the two of us.
