Drove a very rough road. Now steps won’t budge from closed. Fuses on main board checked out and looked good. Replaced them anyway. No go. Looked under the rv. No obvious damage to wires etc. that I can see. Switches are in appropriate positions including the on/off switch and the door magnet switch. Anything obvious I could be missing?

The mechanism might be jammed, so you might have to drop the motor and gear-head to take tension off it. I have a thread on the forum somewhere that discusses my experiences with the steps on my 2007 Tour Master -- will link it if I find it.

I'm nearly 80 years old and find it a challenge to get down under that step, but if you are determined enough and willing to learn/read about how things are supposed to work, you can fix this type of issue.

Good luck...

I turned 81 in June, and still in good enough shape to get under there, check out the connections, wack the motor a couple of times etc., but when I watched a youtube guy panting away, struggling at length, and with blood on his hand, just to remove the old motor, I decided it looks a bit more than I want to contend with, especially since I am not sure whether it’s the motor or maybe something else. I do not plan to take to a dealer. I know a good rv repair person who is willing to fit me in next week. I’ll post the outcome.

Turned out to be some internally corroded connectors that needed to be replaced. You couldn’t see the corrosion until they were pulled open, which took some effort. Steps work fine now.
