Faux leather seat covers and horizontal/vertical surfaces

I have a 2017 Gulfstream Conquest RV model 6237 Class C and for the last few years have been having an issue with the seat covers, the driver/passenger seats, and some of the horizontal/vertical surfaces relating to the faux leather Naugahyde type of covering. It has been especially bad on the dinette seats, both the flat cushions and back cushions. For some reason, this covering is flaking off, like it has a bad case of leprosy. I'll attach a couple pictures of what is happening to this thread. After contacting Gulfstream about the issue, I was told that they couldn't do anything about it because the vendor no longer had this material, but something similar, and I was given a contact point and instructed to contact them apparently about purchasing this new material. I chose not to, and found a company here in Columbia, South Carolina which does repair work on cushion cover for RV's, boat's... Cost me a pretty penny, but the quality of the new material is so much better than the OEM that came with the RV. Anyhow, bit of a long way to get around to asking if anyone else has experienced this issue, and what they have done to remedy it. See, I may have been able to have gotten the dinette covers replaced, but this material/coating is on a number of other horizontal and vertical surfaces throughout the camper. 3M strips which supposedly are removable without any issues tears the coating off, revealing a cloth type of surface beneath. Is there some sort of adhesive or covering that can be purchased which can be applied onto these tears that will stop it from tearing further? In the beginning, I made the mistake of purchasing some kind of "leather, fake leather" repair, which came with Chinese instructions. Did it work? Two guesses, and the first one doesn't count. The gentleman who did the repair work for me mentioned that the problem may have some sort of issue with heat inside the camper. We do get a bit hot during the summer here in South Carolina, and short of opening my bathroom vent, I don't really have any method to vent out that hot air. So, I'm left with trying to find a method to stop the tearing/flaking of the surfaces that I cannot replace with a new cover. Thanks in advance to anyone posting some advice. Regards, Don

Yep I have a 2016 BT cruiser 5210 with a similar issue. We bought the RV last fall with 14k miles and they looked mint ….. until they used them. Turns out it was a common issue

We just got covers for now.

I finally got the cushions re-covered by a company here in South Carolina. They came and picked them up and delivered afterwards. It was a bit expensive, but they did a real good job replacing the covers. Other surfaces are still messed up, but the cushions were the worst issue. I can look and find the company if you like, just respond here. Good luck. Don
