I am a first time buyer looking at a 1993 31' Sunvoyager model 8313 with a 230hp Cummins and Allison 5 speed transmission. The coach has 68,000 miles on it.

What am I for?

Welcome to the Gulf Stream Owners RV Forum! :)

Any used motohome no matter what make sells on it's on merits. Just make sure all the components work or you know what does or doesn't. Take it for a drive, if you haven't already to make sure it handles the way you would expect and has the power that is exceptable to you.

Also, check the age of the tires, if they are near or past seven years it is highly recommended that they be replaced with new, no matter what the tread looks like.

There are many motorhomes that are a good buy, but be prepared to invest some money to bring them up to exceptable standards for you, such as tires, brakes, and possible water leaks.

If it has been properly maintained by the previous owner, then it should be in good mechanical condition, but age does take the toil on many components especially the belts, hoses and anything that is UV affected.

Thanks for the good advice.

I went and saw the motorhome today. It looked a lot better in the pictures than it did in person. That was too bad. The mileage and the mechanical condition were great. It even had a full Banks system on it. The bad news, the exterior and the interior really needed some help. I am in no rush, so I will keep looking.
