Upgrading or downgrading the onboard generator on our BT5210. It was built in 2021 and has less than 14000 miles. While removing the 4000 Kw generator I found that the generator exhaust pipe hanger hanging by a tread. (See the picture).

It would be good for everyone with a generator to add a check on this hanger to their checks. It was the only hanger and the pipe ran forward, I could picture the damage if it totally gave way while traveling down the road.

Mines a 2021 too and trust me, I bought it new and the COVID builds were💩 I spent 2 weeks inspecting and repairing a list of things. But after my repairs it was better than anything they put out.

Neglected Quality Control and Workmanship

VIN# 1FDXE4FN7MDC0

Camera was reversed on R/L turn signal. I was totally shocked when I crawled under my 2021 BTOURING Cruiser and seen Gulfstream still made cargo box’s out of metal! A 1/2” gap was on a full length seam on the bottom of the Cargo box just aft of the Entry door. Foam was sprayed randomly on the exterior corners of all Cargo box’s. Instead of putting a 90 degree on the LP line, to get the line past the corner of the Cargo box aft of the generator, the corner was beaten in with a hammer causing a large gap. The storage Tube for the Sewer hose is a smaller diameter than the Sewer hose! Generator hour meter came on coach with over 2000 hours on it. The Low point drain stops are tight together and buried in Foam. Plus to shot, up against the bottom of the floor. Exterior frame on Maxx Air vent, quick attach points are sealed over. Awning LED lights have three areas out. Two Stabilizer jacks were leaking on the retract fittings. Not what I expected for a $100,000.00 unit.

Quality Control Inspectors should have caught these items before this unit left the factory. But if the workmanship would have been done with Integrity and Self Pride most of these issues wouldn’t have existed in the first place. Plus the Dealership should have gone over the unit before putting it on the Sales line. I’ve always told my Associates, You work everyday like You’re trying to get and keep your job! Do every job like you’re doing for Yourself.

The Dealership fixed the L/R cameras, ordered a New awning and Generator hour meter. I have made the other repairs to proper standards.

Covid quality or lack of quality is a real issue.

We had some major issues and have written them up in this forum.

Some issues are easy to see others are behind the wall and are out of site.

Two examples.; the top marker lights on the fiberglass faring leak water. An easy fix with silicone, also an important one. These water leaks will cause a lot of damage before it is seen on the inside.

An example of a hidden problem, the ducted air conditioner duct work has huge gaps in all four lines. More air blows between the ceiling and the roof than comes out the registers. I only found this replacing the ceiling panels and ceiling insulation.

We love our Cruiser we pretty much did a rebuild to fix the quality problems, add loads of storage and make it more comfortable.

I reworked my duct work last fall. I thought it was stupid that they ran the duct work 3’ fwd past the last vent a funneled it down. So I blocked it off about 2” fwd of the last vent to increase airflow.

That is a good trick.

An easy mod that almost anyone can do is sealing up the air gap at the ceiling unit. I was able to add some bent metal and tape to seal the gaps and direct more air down the ducts. This work can be done by removing the air conditioner main grill.
