Members clarified that the 2021 BTouring Cruiser 5240 typically does not come with a factory-installed inverter. Several experienced RVers noted that, in most cases, only a converter is included, which powers 12V systems and charges the house battery when on shore power. To run 110V outlets while driving, the only factory option is to use the generator; an inverter would need to be added aftermarket.

One member shared their solution: installing a 200W pure sine wave inverter for small... My 2022 5245, and the 5240's I looked at before buying, did not come with an inverter. I added 200w pure sine and replaced one of the USB ports with a 12v plug to power the tv, smart speaker, and router. $50.

If you just need electronics that will do it as they don't need a lot of watts. To do it right you will need to replace your charger with a inverter/charger that's pure sine, lithium and/or lead charging capable, and can pass 30a. The one my tech recommends is the Xantrex and I think he quoted me $1500 plus install.

Trolley,

Perhaps you are asking about the CONVERTER and not an inverter...the converter produces 12 volts for interior lights when connected to shore power, and charges the house battery.. Let us know which you are seeking...

I concur most likely don't have an inverter from the factory. Converter should be behind a black ventilated panel which in your unit to the left and down from the fridge.

Looking to have the 110v plugs in the rig work while we are driving, not connected to shore power. I thought that was the inverter?

As delivered, I think the only way to have the existing 110 outlets live is to run the generator.

I’m sure you can add an inverter to do what you want. Depending on what you’re looking to power will determine what needs to be done.

Yes, having 110 VAC made from the on-board 12 volt battery bank is what an inverter does, but as mentioned you may not have one in the configuration you have as factory delivered. The data sheet on-line for that yeaar series does not even show an inverter as an option...

We had 4 solar panels installed with a inverter powering three separate 110 outlets that only have power when inverter is turned on; we use two AGM batteries for the coach section. We see no need to turn on the inverter while driving.
