We have a 2024 / 5245 Golf Stream Ford E350. Recommendations on external voltage regulator current limiter to protect the trucks charging system during long drives. The batteries were over 90% and the trucks alternator was pushing 50 A at the batteries hooked in parallel that seemed like a lot for me going to disconnect it for now, looking for answers on this problem.

So it turns out after a half a day of experimenting all you gotta do is flip the breaker by the coach battery and the alternator doesn’t have to work to charge the lithium batteries. Once you plug it in at the campsite or start the generator a smart charger takes over if you’re in an emergency and you need to use the truck alternator to charge the lithium to get the generator running you could always just flip the breaker back on. There’s so much information out there. It’s kind of confusing but if you just work through it, it’s pretty easy to figure out.

We added 4 solar panels 800 watts to our 2022 BT5230, for our house batteries. They are two New AGM deep cycle batteries purchased prior to solar install. I am able to monitor house batteries with the phone app. So I will your advice and turn off coach batteries during road trips and monitor the voltage of truck at an average of 14.6 v and the coach batteries at 14.6v while charging with a sunny day
