I pick up my new BT 5210 next week. I would like to hear from other Class C owners do you have your rig on a maintenance schedule with a local dealer.
I am wondering do you get your oil changed every 5,000 miles and tires checked and what else am I missing. Never owned an RV before, all advice and recommendations welcomed.

I think this is a very "to each their own" thing. It's a tiny home sitting on a cutaway van chassis. Like anything in a home or with a vehicle, folks either learn how to do things themselves to save money, or you have comfort with a fat billfold to fork over the funds when necessary while keeping your hands clean.

I'm definitely the former. Changing oil is changing oil, etc. I'm sure everyone has their own preferences. I'd say it's nice to have the option to take it to a dealer if there is an engine problem or specific manufacturer issue. Otherwise, any shop can do the basics, and most folks seem to have the best luck with 'commercial van and truck' mechanic shops for brakes, suspension or most anything else.

Hi Larry!! I think I have the same model BT Cruiser, and I'm looking for someone to help me do some interior updates. I just jumped all-in FT a couple of months ago and think I'd do better pairing up with someone who can mentor/help. Any ideas how to find such a sport?

Happy Day!

Larry, not sure why you sent me to that thread. It seems to be really old and the most recent stuff wasn't about a 22' 5211B.

Well, you mentioned you want to do interior updates. That thread has some of the most interesting ideas, transformations, additions, etc. that I've seen. Gulf Stream discontinued the 5211 layout years ago, but the 5210 is the same coach with a slightly different interior layout. Good luck with your updates.

Oh I understand now. And yes I have been reading a lot of historical information, but as you point out, my layout is different and there were many customizations before I just recently bought it. That was kind of what I was leaning into that my situation is unique and I'm living in it now so just testing the waters to see if there is anyone out there who wants to help me tackle a project? I'm not equipped alone and would appreciate some mentoring, whether consultatively or hands-on, and I presently have the ability to be flexible if the right opportunity is out there to find someone like that.

Thanks for the chat!!
Happy Day!!
Stacy
