Onan QG4000 Error Code 33 on BT Cruiser

Today I ran my gen and it was doing great for a while. There was no load to speak of. Then it stopped with a code of 33. The code basically says over heated. (it is not in the manual but it does exist) Today the ambient temp was in the low 70's so a very nice day. I did have the access door closed which is a normal situation.

I let it rest for a while and tried again. This time, I opened the access door but left the Onan panel in place, ran both a heater plugged into the outside plug, and ran the AC on low fan auto, so under load. This time it ran for over an hour, until I stopped it.

I plan on running a similar run tomorrow to duplicate the results. At this point I'm not sure I want to trust the gen for keeping the mh cool for the pups while going to lunch.

Have any of you BTC owners run into this issue? I have seen some class C mh's with a mesh screen on the door for the gen assuming to help with cooling.

The QG4000 is a KY series engine, I suspect and there is no 33 code for a KY, so suspect you are reading code wrong. I believe you need to push Stop again after it flashes the first 3, and then it will give you the proper second digit from the code. Since it did run a period, I suspect you will get a 36 code which is often a fuel/ fuel pump issue, but low fuel tank will also give 36.
Diesel does have a 33 code, (high coolant temp/ water cooled) but that would be a QD, not QG.

Trust me. I read it multiple times and it was 33. But it seems to have resolved itself (for now).
