Hi all,
Just curious if anyone who has low-hanging cabinets above the head area on their bed has taken those cabinets out? My wife and I took out our new Vista 23RSS out for the first time for a long weekend this past weekend and loved it EXCEPT for the low-hanging cabinet that's right about the head area on the queen bed.

We understand it has to be so low-hanging because the front of the Vistas are curved but both my wife and I hit our heads HARD on those damn cabinets several times over the course of the weekend. We're going to put baby bumpers on the super sharp corner of the cabinet for next time, but are seriously thinking of sacrificing the storage by taking out the cabinet altogether. Just curious if anyone else has done the same or if you've had the same problem. Some will say that we'll just get used to the low-hanging cabinet but my wife and I are both tall creatures and after each of us drawing blood on our heads from the whacks we took, we're ready to just take out the cabinets!

Thanks!
WS

We had the exact same experience in our first trip in the 23rss. Installed edge guard on the front of the
Cabinet from amazon.

Problem goes away. Minor bumps soon become none.

Thanks for the reply, Veector! I bought some similar bumper guards for our 23RSS so hopefully that works (or at least helps). My wife is pretty attached to keeping the overhead cabinets so we'll keep them unless our heads just get so banged up we can't stand it anymore. We're taking it out for the second time next weekend (with new bumper guards) so keeping our fingers crossed...

I have experienced the same in our 19ERD. My technique is, sitting on the side of the bed, put on hand on the upper cabinet edge (where you would hit your head) while laying down. I use the same technique going up. It works fine, even in the dark.
Removing the overhead storage is a bad idea because the side cabinets will fall apart. Anyway there is not sufficient storage in these TT's.

That's a good technique, mzweili. We'll try it out when we take the Vista out this weekend for sure. My wife really REALLY does not want me to take out the overhead cabinets so I guess they're definitely staying. And yes, there really isn't enough storage in these TT's. Our old popup had a lot more storage, strangely enough!
