Removing Ignition Switch on 1989 Sunsport: Hidden Locking Mechanism?

1989 sunsport. I have tried to remove the ignition switch from the dashboard as I am replacing the broken plastic fascia. I have tried to unscrew the big 'conical' bezel. It unscrews to a loose condition but, it still doesn't sepperate from the barrel assembly. There must be a locking mechanism somewhere. This is a pic of the switch. Please help somebody!!!

Thanks again Chuck. Yes a bit fiddly as it says but it worked. I searched and searched google but couldn't find that. I was looking for 1980's. Didn't go back that far!!
